DAY 35 Weight Loss Journal

Monday morning. What a great day! Lisette and I interviewed Jennifer Coburn and her daughter Katie at Riviera 31 (inside the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills, California). We enjoyed a lively and candid conversation that I can’t wait to share with you! Look for it on https://EncinoMom.com in mid- July! Of course, if you subscribe to our channel, you’ll be sure to see it and you’ll be able to enter our giveaways exclusively for our YouTube audience (currently we are giving away a $50 gift card to Daphne’s California Greek – see details on our site).

We got a standing ovation last night for our reading of IVY! Everyone did a great job, with stage directions read by Wyatt Brown, the ensemble of actors portrayed the many characters who played roles in the story of Ivy Botini’s real life. With a stand out performance by Bonita Friedericy in the title role, Drew Katzman, Pat Lentz, Loren Lester, Wendy Levin and I each undertook multiple roles in service of the story. The script was written by Al Schnupp and Ellyn Gersh Lerner, a labor of love for the past year or so, and Lerner also directed the reading. We were delighted to present the piece as part of The City of West Hollywood’s One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival with special guest, Ivy Bottini seated in the middle of the first row!

With all good wishes to the playwrights and little luck, too, we look forward to hearing more about this new work!

Lisa

DAY 34 Weight Loss Journal

Okay, here’s a sneak peek at the room makeover we’ve been working on. I’ll come back and post a link to the article when it’s completed. It was a LOT of work and a LOT of fun. Kind of like my Z.E.N. journey, the results are something worth working toward.

It’s Sunday, we’ve got a photoshoot on the books, plus I’m playing about 50 characters in a staged reading of IVY, a play about Artist and Activist Ivy Botini. We’ll be at the gorgeous West Hollywood Council Chambers at 7 pm in a program that is part of the One City, One Pride month long celebration.

Thanks for all of your encouragement throughout this whole process!
See you in the morning,
Lisa
